* Journal Description

  The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal.

  Established in 2003 by the Shanghai Association of Integrative Medicine (SAIM) and the Shanghai Changhai Hospital , the Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is a peer-reviewed journal on integrative medicine, reflecting the advances and progress in all areas of integrative medicine.

  The purpose of the journal is to promote the alternative medicine being integrated into mainstream health care. We devote to publish an international leading journal for studies in integrative medicine, as announced by Professor Weikang Zhao ( for additional information, see the Editorial staff ), the Editor-in-Chief, in the foreword to the first issue when the Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine was founded in May, 15, 2003.

  To achieve these aims, we seek to publish high-quality clinical trials, original scientific studies and review articles focusing on different aspects of complementary and alternative medical (CAM) practices/interventions and natural health products, including their integration with allopathic/orthodox medicine; our commitment to international scope ensures that research and progress from all regions of the world should be widely covered. We are delighted to receive articles for publication on all areas of integrative medicine from doctors and others world-wide. Besides the original articles and reviews, commentaries, short communications, case reports, letters to the editor, and research on English translation of traditional Chinese medicine are also welcome. Manuscripts can be written in English or Chinese. The acceptance rate of the Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine in 2005 was 25%; its average time from submission to publication was 152 days, but we aim to give quick decisions.( For additional information, see the Editorial policy.)

  The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is indexed/abstracted in MEDLINE / Index Medicus / PubMed (in PubMed, the abbreviation of the journal title is Zhong Xi Yi Jie He Xue Bao), Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), Chemical Abstracts (CA), International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA), and VINITI Abstracts Journal.

  The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is published bimonthly, in the 15th of the odd-numbered months. The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is distributed worldwide.

  The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine is an open access journal. The online version of the journal is made freely available to readers.
